Meeting with Japanese Investors based in Japan and Hong Kong 🇺🇦🇯🇵

Our Senior Advisor Kuniori Matsuda took part in a series of working dinners with Japanese investors in Tokyo and Hong Kong, focusing on opportunities in the Ukrainian drone industry.

Japanese investors expressed strong interest in:

 • investment in Ukrainian drone developers and producers,

 • import of finished drones and related technologies from Ukraine to Japan,

 • joint R&D and technical cooperation.

Kuniori Matsuda emphasized the unique role drones can play for Japan, given its long coastline and vast territorial waters — not only in defense, but also in coast guard, search & rescue, environmental monitoring, and meteorology. The investors fully agreed on the strategic potential of such cooperation.

📌 The industry is moving fast: recently, Quantum Systems invested in Frontline, a Ukrainian producer of unmanned ground systems — the first foreign defence tech investment in Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion. This is only the beginning of a broader wave of international cooperation in Ukraine’s defence innovation.
